The setup process of Netgear EX7000 range extender
First of all, connect the power adapter to the Netgear EX7000 range extender.
If you plan to connect your Netgear EX7000 range extender by a wired connection, then you have to plug in the ethernet cable to your PC or laptop.
If you plan to connect your Netgear EX7000 range extender by a wireless connection, then you have to just turn on the power cable and wait for the WiFi Range Extender to complete its initialisation.
Using the Install assistant to set up the Netgear EX7000 range extender
- After the initialisation is complete, open a web browser from your desktop and visit mywifiext.net from the web browser.
- The setup Wizard will assist you through the setup process of Netgear EX7000 range extender.
- Create a Netgear account if you are new user of the device. If you already have a Netgear account, log in to the account with the user ID and password.
- On the next screen, you will have to pick whether you want to set up a Netgear WiFi router or Range Extender. Pick the second option.
- Next, you will be asked to enter the details of the WiFi network that you want to extend. Enter the SSID and password of the WiFi network that you want your Netgear EX7000 range extender to connect to.
- Finally, select the frequency and proceed to the final step.

After following all the steps carefully, wait for the Netgear EX7000 range extender to complete its work. Then, use a wireless device that can connect to a WiFi network to see if the network that has been set up is working or not. Simply enter the SSID and password of the WiFi network that you wanted to extend and move away from the Range Extender.
If you have done everything successfully, you will be able to access the Local Network for the private network or the internet using the Netgear EX7000 range extender.
